This Great Depression Dessert Recipe Is A Delicious Treat Worth Trying

There’s nothing like grandma’s or great grandma’s cooking but let’s be honest, they won’t be around forever. You might as well jot their recipes down and learn them while you can. If you can’t, then you can always watch Great Depression Cooking with 94-year-old Clara.

Baked apples are delicious, but nowadays they can be expensive and not as healthy as they used to be. Fortunately for us, Clara has her own recipe for baked apples.

First, cut the cores of the apple out. Mix your cinnamon and sugar and pour it into the apples till you reach the top then place a little slice of butter on top to keep the sugar in.

Add a little water to the bottom of your pan so the apples don’t burn and place them in the oven at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. That’s all there is to it.

The final outcome of your apples might not be what you were expecting. They come out looking shriveled and wrecked, but don’t let the appearance fool you, this is a treat you wouldn’t want to miss.
