A Dad Decided To Make Bunk Beds For His Kids. The Final Product Made My Jaw Drop.

There are plenty of awesome designs for bunk beds that can fill a child with excitement and an adult with envy (don’t lie, bunks are cool) but none could compare with the design and meaning behind a bunk bed that a father made for and with his children.

The meaning behind this crazy bunk bed is filled with lessons that should be made understood by every child. Putting it in my own words won’t do it justice so here’s a little of what the father, Dr. Linus Strothmann, said on intructables.

“The idea was to bring some nature into the Kid’s room and for them to have a bunkbed that inspired them to climb on and in it. I also wanted them to experience that wood isn’t a material that is made, but one that grows, that has a life in it, and so the idea came up to collect wood that had been cut to clear the forest.”

Strothmann and his boys explored a forest in Berlin to find pieces for the crib.

He said it only took them about 5 minutes to find what they needed.

Once his boys got the pieces it was up to Strothmann to finish the rest.

Metal braces were used to hold the bed frame in place on the wall.

He also made safety railings so the little guys don’t fall off.

The final product is one to marvel at.

This is easily one the coolest do-it-yourself projects we’ve ever seen. Not only is the design itself something to gawk at, the message behind it and the dedication one father put in to it easily makes it the best bunk bed on the planet, no question. Those kids will always remember what their father did for them.
