Most of us get our cat’s attention by clicking or making kissing noises. But what do you do when your cat is deaf? This pet owner ran into just that situation. And she solved it by teaching her cats sign language.
She adopted the cat bambi (the white one). Bambi was born deaf, and she knew that she had to figure out a sight based method of communication. She taught her two other cats sign language as well so they’d already be adjusted when bambi began living with them.
In the video, she shows their commands and explains the story behind her teaching them sign language.
The cats know signs for common commands like “come, and “stay”. She even taught them a few novelty ones like “handshake”. It just goes to show that cats are just as capable as dogs when it comes to learning if you have the persistence. Why not follow her example and teach your cat some tricks.
