What One Police Officer Did After Approaching Two Kids Got The Whole Town’s Attention

The media has been abuzz with examples of the few bad apples among America’s police force, or worse, persecuting hard working good cops that were thrust into unfortunate circumstances.

One officer in Bridgeport, Connecticut is getting a different kind of attention for what witnesses captured after he pulled over and approached two kids playing on the side walk.

While on patrol, officer Cody Remy noticed two children having some problems. One of the kid’s bikes was broken and Remy took it upon himself to stay and help them fix the bike.

Unbeknownst to Remy, a nearby resident noticed his act of kindness and snapped some photos.

His actions left the townsfolk pleasantly shocked, including the mayor of Bridgeport himself, Mayor Bill Finch.

Remy doesn’t believe he did anything extraordinary, but the mayor thinks otherwise. In a statement, Finch said,

“Officer Remy’s act of helping out a child in need in our community is a great example. He doesn’t think he did anything extraordinary. But I disagree. The picture speaks for itself. And, I’ll leave it up to others in our community and beyond to decide for themselves.”

Officer Cody Remy did just fix a child’s bike, he reminded his community what the police force really is: protectors and friends.
