Marine’s Daughter Receives A Heartwarming Surprise After Tragedy: “Thank You God and Thank You Dad.”

Good fathers always try to do what’s best for their daughters, even if it means a sacrifice. For 26 year old Rhea Shannon, her father would re-enlist in the Marine Corps in order to ensure that his children had a bright, well-educated future.

Rhea’s father co signed with her for her college student loans so they could pay them off together after her father returned. However, during Rhea’s senior year, her father died while on active duty.

As if losing her father wasn’t enough, she was also saddled with a whopping $54,000 in debt.

As a new graduate, Rhea was unable to make the payments, and she was forced to spend her days dodging phone calls and deciding between necessities and debt payments.

Luckily for Rhea, a stranger named Ashlynne Haycock saw her problem and decided to step in. Ashlynne works for TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors).

TAPS aids those that have lost loved ones in the Armed Forces.

Ashlynne contacted JPMorgan chase, and they waived the entire debt. Chase has a Military Survivor Program that waives the debts of customers that have been killed in military service.

Rhea is now free to enjoy her life as a normal 26 year old without the shackles of debt holding her back. Her exact words were “Thank you God and Thank you Dad.”
