Have you ever heard the phrase “If you love it so much, then why don’t you marry it?” Well, Americans sure do love their fast food, and this Illinois couple decided to do just that. Well sort of.
When 24 year old Joel Burger and his fiance Ashley King met in high school, they were just friends. When they got together a few years later, their friends mocked them for their joint last named. To be honest, it’d be more surprising if they didn’t tease them a little.
However, they didn’t let that stop them, and now this adorable Illinois couple will soon be walking down the Aisle, creating perhaps the most delicious surname possible: Burger-King.
According to the State Journal Register, the couple purposely choose to put the the bride’s name first in order to make their name new match the fast food restaurant.
If you’re trying to hold back laughter, don’t! The couple is fully aware of how funny the situation is and they both embrace it.
