A family suffered a tragedy over 17 years ago when their daughter was kidnapped just 3 days after birth. The couple, Celeste and Morne Nurse, went on to have 3 more children, but never gave up hope in finding their lost daughter, Zephany. They even celebrated her birthday every year.
17-years later, when their second daughter, Cassidy, started high school, she met a girl who looked remarkably similar to her. She had to tell her parents right away.
After hiring a detective and getting some DNA tests done, Morne and Celeste finally found their missing Zephany, who had been living just miles away from their home, in Cape Town, South Africa.
It was a reunion that left Celeste in tears.
Zephany’s biological family and the family that raised her will have to battle it out in court to determine the fate of their daughter. In the meantime, Zephany is in a safe place, getting to know her new family.
Surprisingly, Celeste holds no resentment. In fact, she wants to thank the woman who stole her daughter for raising her to be such a wonderful and happy young girl. It’s amazing to see a happy ending to a 17-year nightmare.
