When no one showed up for a child’s birthday, a Green Bay, Wisconsin, police officer stepped in.
Officer Darryl Robinson was dispatched to a Green Bay elementary school when an 8-year-old boy had not been picked up from school.
When Officer Robinson arrived, he learned that it was the boy’s birthday and that the boy’s mom was in prison and his dad was not in contact with the child.
Officer Robinson wanted to make the boy’s birthday special, so he contacted the child’s grandfather and asked if he could take the boy to McDonald’s for lunch.
The Green Bay Police Department shared the story on their Facebook page and donations for the boy poured in.
