This Animal Shelter Had A Wonderful Reason To Celebrate Before The New Year

The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region in Colorado Springs recently shared this heartwarming video, showing a celebration for a great cause — their kennels were completely empty because all of their cats and dogs had been adopted.

“What happens when your last available dog gets adopted? Your staff and volunteers jump into the kennels to celebrate! We’ve adopted out 25 cats and 23 dogs so far during our #HomefortheHolidays promotion, and for the second day in a row, we’ve adopted out ALL of our available dogs” they wrote on Facebook.

Considering that 31% of dogs in shelters end up euthanized, this was a momentous occasion and definitely reason to celebrate.

In order to help their abandoned animals find forever homes, the shelter waived their adoption feeds for all animals over 5 years old between December 18th until the New Year.

No animal deserves to die in a shelter. Share this story if you agree.
