Cora the Corgi found comforting stranger at Seattle airport

Madison Palm was blown away by the empathy shown by her pet in a Seattle airport.

The two were waiting for their flight when Cora the corgi made her way over to a man sitting by himself.

“Before I could even call her she was already at his feet being loved on.” Palm recalls. “I asked him if she was bothering him, and with a somber face and watery eyes he said, ‘No, no. I lost my dog last night.'”

“I truly think she has a gift,” Palm raved. “She knows who is hurting and she knows who needs her. Once [the man] told me that his dog passed away I looked at Cora and I thought to myself, You are so amazing. How did I get so lucky?

According to Best Life, Palm and her pup have lived together for about a year now. How they found each other is a story in and of itself.

One day, Palm’s coworker showed her a Facebook post about a corgi who was killing all of her owner’s chickens. When Palm heard that they were giving the dog away for free, she left work instantly to meet her.

As it turns out, Cora was attacking the chickens because she had been malnourished. Cora also had an ear infection, rotted teeth, and had given birth to several litters of puppies, but was never taken to a vet.

Palm took her home, cleaned her up, and restored her health. The two have been best friends ever since. Cora is now in training to be a service dog, something Palm knows to be in her blood.

“She is very empathetic and in tune with my needs, yet she is so incredibly independent,” Palm says. “She lives for making people happy again.”
