Robert Brown’s son Carter died in a car accident on his way home from college to visit his girlfriend Kaylee Suders.
Carter was a 19-year-old college student, and Kaylee, a high school senior. The two had planned to attend Kaylee’s senior prom.
After Carter died, Kaylee no longer wanted to go to the prom. Carter’s dad Robert knew Carter wouldn’t want for Kaylee to miss out on her senior prom, so he hatched a plan.
Robert asked Kaylee’s school’s permission to escort her to the prom. After the school approved Robert’s request, he asked Kaylee to attend the prom with him. She agreed.
The two went to dinner at TGIFriday’s, where Carter and Kaylee had their first date and then made their way to the prom.
Robert said that Kaylee is still part of the family and he knew that he was doing for Kaylee what Carter would have wanted.
