As Americans, we take pride in our country. We enjoy personal freedom that simply doesn’t exist in some parts of the world. We don’t live in fear, because we know that we are safety is protected. But how often do we stop to think about the reasons why we are so fortunate?
The military and first responders keep our nation alive and thriving. We are surrounded by heroes–and they are far too often overlooked.
But one American found an inspiring way to pay respect to our nation’s heroes with a small gesture. And it’s spreading like wildfire.
It all started when Dental Health Partners of Jackson, Ohio installed a special parking space reserved for veterans, active military, police, fire fighters and EMS.
It reads “Super Hero Parking Only.”
After the image of the sign was posted on the Facebook page “Ohio Going Blue,” it went viral. Supporters of the idea blew up social media with kind words. One commenter acknowledged,
“I think that this a great idea. What makes that group of people so great though is they probably wouldn’t park there, they would give it up for the less fortunate. God bless all of them for what they do for all of us.“
Even more amazing, these specials signs are now popping up across the country.
This sign was found in Mandan, North Dakota.
Another sign was spotted in Muscatine, Iowa.
Owatonna, Minnesota showed its pride with this reserved spot.
Brevard County, Florida Sheriff Wayne Ivey stands proudly next to a sign.
Every small gesture counts. And when one act of kindness turns into many, the combination is a powerful force.
