After 13 years of marriage and three kids, Louis Demetriades and wife Renate Stumpf got a divorce. They both went on to live their individual lives, but their recent reunion is truly a story for the ages.
Stumpf, 75, was working her shift at Walmart when a man approached her with a large sign. When she turned around she was shocked to see her ex-husband, and even more taken back with the sign he was holding. It read: “Happy Valentines Day. Will you marry me?”
The two met when they were 18-years-old and eventually got married, but fell apart and married other people after getting divorced.
When both of their second spouses passed away, the two began speaking again over the phone and realized that their love for each other was still there.
After several months of rekindling their relationship, Demetriades showed up to the Walmart and popped the question. At first Renate jokingly turned her ex-husband down, but then said yes, and now the two will give their marriage a second, and hopefully final, go-round.
